In a complex and rapidly evolving landscape, our funders play a critical role in helping us build sustainable, real-world solutions that empower patients and protect sensitive health information.
From the start, this work has been driven and led almost entirely by volunteers. Leaders and experts who continue to give their time, insight, and passion to solve some of health care’s hardest problems: repairing the trust fabric and giving patients control over their sensitive health information.
Our organization's work is made possible through the dedication of our Governing Board, who provide not only strategic guidance but also critical funding and in-kind contributions. This support allows Shift to coordinate workstreams, convene advisory groups, and maintain a collaborative process with national reach on a limited budget.
We are proud to be a grantee of the Adtalem Foundation, whose investment in our mission has made it possible to accelerate key technical and policy work. Their support enabled us to expand our sandbox demonstrations, contribute to national guidance efforts, and push forward meaningful work for our behavioral health use case. We are deeply grateful for their belief in our work and our potential.
The Adtalem Foundation supports organizations that are creating meaningful change in education, healthcare, and economic mobility. With their generous grant funding, Shift has been able to accelerate its technical and policy workstreams—developing tools, consensus guidance, and sandbox demonstrations that bring our vision to life.
Their investment helps ensure that patient privacy and data control are not sidelined, but prioritized in shaping the future of health care.
We also thank Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) for their generous and ongoing support as Shift’s Funding Administrator.
As a public hospital system rooted in equity and access, CHA reflects the very values Shift works to advance. Their leadership has long championed the importance of privacy, trust, and community health. Their support affirms confidence in both our co-founder’s vision and Shift’s mission to make sensitive data sharing safer, smarter, and more just.
We are deeply grateful to CHA for standing with the Shift Collaborative, especially at a time when patient privacy and consent protections have never been more urgent.
If you're a funder, grantmaker, or philanthropic partner interested in advancing patient trust, equitable health data exchange, and real-world impact we welcome the opportunity to connect.
